Boral Driveway & Pavers: The Orlando Owner’s Guide

We stock and install Boral-compatible driveway pavers and replacement units across Orlando, with installed repair work typically running $700 – $4,500 depending on how many pavers failed and what’s underneath them. Most Orlando homeowners discover a problem the same way: a paver has cracked along an edge, settled into a low spot that holds water after an afternoon thunderstorm, or started spalling, which is the trade word for the surface flaking off in thin layers. The good news is a failed Boral paver rarely means a failed driveway. It usually means one unit reached the end of its life, and everything around it can be saved.

We’re an independent Orlando service provider, not affiliated with Boral. What that means for you is we match the paver, do the repair, and stand behind the work ourselves. Isaac Pruett and our crew have repaired enough Boral paver driveways in this city to know what the Orlando climate does to them, and we’ll tell you honestly whether you need one paver replaced or a section re-leveled.

Which Boral Models This Applies To

An open living space after a whole-home remodel

Boral’s paver lines that show up most often in Orlando driveways are the Boral Clay Paver series and the Boral Stone Paver lines, including the larger-format units used in contemporary homes around Baldwin Park and Winter Park. Clay pavers are fired units, typically 4×8 inches and roughly 2 to 2¼ inches thick. Stone pavers run bigger, often 12×12, 16×16, or 24×24 inches, and anywhere from 1¼ to 2 inches thick depending on whether they were rated for driveway traffic or patio use. That last distinction matters more than most people expect: a patio-rated Boral paver used on a driveway will crack under vehicle weight within a few years in Florida, especially on the sandy, shifting soils common around Orlando.

If you’re trying to identify which Boral paver you have, flip over a loose unit and look for the manufacturer stamp. Boral clay pavers usually carry a small imprint on the bottom or side. For stone pavers, note the surface texture and color blend. Orlando installers in the early 2000s favored Boral’s terracotta and sand tones, so a driveway that color is often Boral even when the stamp has worn away. We match by measuring the unit, checking the profile, and comparing against current Boral and quality aftermarket equivalents. For most Orlando repairs, a properly matched aftermarket paver from a reputable manufacturer performs identically at roughly 20 – 30% less than an OEM Boral unit, and we’ll show you both options before anything gets ordered.

Signs Your Boral Driveway & Pavers Is Failing

  • Surface flaking or peeling (spalling). Water gets into the paver’s surface pores, and Orlando’s heat-and-rain cycle forces that water to expand and contract until the top layer lets go. Once spalling starts, it doesn’t stop, but it also doesn’t spread to adjacent pavers.
  • A low spot that holds water after rain. That’s usually not the paver’s fault. The sand or gravel base beneath it has washed out or settled. Orlando’s afternoon downpours move soil fast, and a depression is the first visible symptom.
  • Cracks along one edge or through the center. If crack lines run in a grid pattern across multiple pavers, the base has failed and the section needs re-leveling. A single cracked paver is often just a point-load failure from a parked vehicle or a dropped tool.
  • The paver rocks or wobbles when stepped on. This comes from lost bedding sand underneath. It’s a tripping hazard and will get worse, but the paver itself usually survives and can be reset.
  • Color has turned chalky white. That’s efflorescence, mineral salts rising through the paver. It’s cosmetic on Boral clay units and can sometimes be cleaned, but on repeated cycles it weakens the surface and leads to spalling.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

A remodeled living room with built-in shelves around the fireplace

For an Orlando Boral paver driveway repair, here’s what you should expect based on the scope:

  • Single paver replacement (clay or stone): $700 – $1,200 installed, including sourcing a matching unit, pulling the broken paver, resetting the bed, and sweeping sand into the joints.
  • Section re-leveling (up to 50 square feet): $1,200 – $2,800 installed, depending on how much base material needs rebuilding.
  • Full driveway re-level or partial re-install (100+ square feet with new base): $3,000 – $4,500, which typically covers replacing broken pavers, re-compacting the base, and re-setting the affected area.
  • Full new paver driveway installation: $7,000 – $18,000, consistent with what Orlando homeowners pay for a complete paver driveway from scratch.

What drives the range is what’s under the pavers, not the pavers themselves. If we find the compacted base is intact, it’s a fast patch job. If the base has washed out, we’re doing real excavation, new gravel, re-compaction, and re-setting. You’ll get a written price before any work starts, and our 365-Day Done Right Promise applies to paver repairs we complete: if something we set fails within a year, we come back and make it right at no cost.

DIY or Call Us?

Paver work looks approachable, and sometimes it is. If you have a single loose paver and the surrounding units are solid, you can remove it, check the sand bed, add a little bedding sand, and tap it back into place. That’s within most Orlando homeowners’ reach. What goes wrong is when the symptoms point under the surface: if you have standing water, multiple cracked units, or a section that has sunk half an inch or more, everything beneath the pavers has to come up and get rebuilt. At that point, you’re moving gravel, compacting base, and setting multiple pavers at a consistent grade that drains properly. Getting any one of those wrong means the problem comes back in twelve months, and Orlando’s rainy season will make sure of it. This part isn’t dangerous to work with the way high-tension garage springs are, but it’s expensive to get wrong. Tell me what the problem is. We’ll figure out the rest from there. Call (850) 920-7745 and describe what your driveway is doing. We’ll tell you over the phone whether it’s worth a service visit or something you can knock out on a Saturday.
