Mr-Glass Driveway & Pavers: The Orlando Owner’s Guide
If you own a Mr-Glass driveway or paver surface in Orlando and a section has cracked, settled, or started pulling apart, here’s what you need to know: we stock Mr-Glass-compatible pavers and matching materials, and a typical repair or replacement section runs between $350 and $2,500 installed depending on how much surface area has failed and what’s underneath it. Most owners discover the problem the same way: a paver shifts underfoot after a heavy rain, or a car tire drops into a low spot that wasn’t there last month. We can match the color, size, and finish of your existing Mr-Glass pavers, and we’ll tell you straight whether the paver is the problem or the base underneath it is.
Mr-Glass driveway and paver products are built for Florida’s climate, but Orlando’s sandy soil and afternoon thunderstorms create a specific failure pattern we see across every neighborhood from College Park to Lake Nona. The pavers themselves are rarely the weak point. It’s what’s under them.
Which Mr-Glass Models This Applies To
Mr-Glass manufactures paver and driveway surface products in a few distinct lines, and they are not all interchangeable. The most common ones we see in Orlando are the Mr-Glass permeable pavers, the Mr-Glass cobble series, and the Mr-Glass driveway slab pavers. Each line uses a slightly different thickness and edge profile, so a paver from the cobble series will not sit flush next to a paver from the slab series. If you still have the original installation paperwork, the product code is usually stamped on the underside of the paver. If not, measure the paver: slab pavers are typically 60mm thick for driveway traffic, while some walkway pavers run 40mm. That 20mm difference matters when you’re replacing a section. We match OEM Mr-Glass pavers when they’re still available, and for discontinued runs, we source aftermarket equivalents that match the surface texture and color within tolerance. The honest truth: a good aftermarket paver installed with a properly compacted base will outlast a factory paver installed on loose sand.

Signs Your Mr-Glass Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
- A paver rocks when you step on it. That means the bedding layer under it has washed out or settled unevenly. If one paver rocks, the ones around it are about to.
- Water pools in one spot after rain. The base has sunk, and now the pavers slope toward that low point instead of toward your drainage. In Orlando, standing water on pavers also breeds mildew that turns the surface slick.
- Sand keeps washing out from between joints. Heavy afternoon rains push the joint sand out faster than it can be replaced. Once enough sand is gone, the pavers start moving against each other and edges chip.
- A crack runs through multiple pavers in a straight line. That’s not a paver problem, that’s a base or ground movement problem underneath, and replacing just the cracked pavers won’t fix it.
- You can see a visible dip in the driveway from the street. That’s base failure, full stop. The pavers themselves are fine, but the foundation under them has compacted or washed away.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

In Orlando, replacing a small section of Mr-Glass pavers typically costs $350 to $900 for isolated paver swaps and spot base repair. A larger paver driveway installation runs $7,000 to $18,000 for a full job, and that range covers the difference between a simple rectangular driveway with standard pavers and a larger, curved design with edge restraints and upgraded base depth. What drives the price most is what we find when we lift the pavers: if the base is still solid, we’re resetting pavers and re-sanding joints. If the base has failed, we’re removing and re-compacting it before any paver goes back down. You get a written quote before any work starts, and every repair is covered by our written guarantee with clearly stated terms. No verbal estimates, no surprises on the final bill.
Quick reference for Orlando pricing:
- Paver reset and re-sanding (small area): $250 – $700
- Paver repair or replacement section: $350 – $2,500
- Full paver driveway installation: $7,000 – $18,000
- Paver patio installation: $3,500 – $11,000
- Driveway replacement (any surface): $5,000 – $14,000
DIY or Call Us?
You can absolutely handle some of this yourself. If a single paver is chipped and the rest of the surface is solid, you can pry it up with a flat bar, check the sand underneath, and set a matching replacement. If you’re just re-sanding joints, that’s a broom and a bag of polymeric sand from any Orlando hardware store. What you don’t want to DIY is anything where multiple pavers have shifted or sunk. That means the base has failed, and a bag of sand will not fix it. You’d need to remove the pavers, re-compact the base, and re-set everything with proper edge restraints. We’ve fixed more DIY attempts than we can count, and the pattern is always the same: the pavers look fine for a month, then the low spot comes back because the base was never the thing that got fixed. Tell me what the problem is. We’ll figure out the rest from there.
FAQs

Mr-Glass pavers themselves will typically last 20 to 30 years in Central Florida, but the base under them is the real variable. With Orlando’s sandy soil and heavy summer rain, a properly compacted base with good drainage will carry pavers for decades. A poorly compacted base can start showing dips and shifts within two to three years. The pavers you have are probably fine. What’s under them may not be.
You replace it. Pavers are not like concrete slabs that can be patched. A cracked paver is a failed paver, and no epoxy or filler will hold up under driveway traffic in Florida’s heat and rain. The good news is that individual pavers are inexpensive, and if the base is solid, swapping one out takes less than an hour. Call (850) 920-7745 and we’ll match what you have.
A small section of five to ten pavers with a solid base usually takes us a single morning, including re-sanding the joints. If we’re re-compacting a failed base, plan for a full day. If you’re looking at a full driveway replacement, that’s typically three to five working days from tear-out to final compaction. We’ll give you a clear timeline on the written quote before anything starts.
We keep common Mr-Glass sizes and colors in stock on our trucks and in our Orlando yard, along with matching aftermarket equivalents for discontinued runs. For unusual colors, oversized slabs, or permeable pavers, we order and have them ready before we schedule the repair. We also stock parts and materials for KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone work for our remodeling clients.

We are, however, the crew Isaac Pruett has spent years building around one simple rule: show up when we say we will, write the price down before we start, and leave the job site clean enough that you’d never know we were there except for the pavers looking right again. Every crew member is background-checked and identity-verified under the Threshold Standard. You’ll know who’s coming by name and photo before they arrive.
