Therma-Tru Windows & Doors: The Orlando Owner’s Guide
We stock, install, and service Therma-Tru-compatible windows and doors throughout Orlando, with most replacement parts priced between $400 and $2,500 installed depending on the component. If you’ve got a Therma-Tru door that won’t seal, a hinge that’s sagging, or weatherstripping that’s crusted over from Central Florida humidity, we can match the part to your exact model and get it handled, typically within a few days. Most Orlando homeowners discover the failure the same way: a draft that wasn’t there last summer, condensation between glass panes, or a door that suddenly needs a shoulder to close. Tell me what the problem is. We’ll figure out the rest from there.
Which Therma-Tru Models This Applies To
Therma-Tru builds three main entry door lines we see regularly in Orlando neighborhoods like College Park, Baldwin Park, and Winter Park: the Classic-Craft, Fiber-Classic, and Smooth-Star series. Each uses slightly different slab thicknesses and hinge prep patterns, and the parts are not always interchangeable. The Classic-Craft line runs a thicker door slab, typically 1-3/4 inches, while Smooth-Star entry doors often sit at 1-5/8 inches. Mason Remodeling Co Orlando is an independent service provider, not affiliated with Therma-Tru, but we match parts by the label on the hinge edge of the slab, not by guesswork. Look for a small white tag or embossed code near the bottom hinge. That identifier tells us the series, size, and swing without pulling the door off its hinges. On the window side, Therma-Tru’s hinged and sliding patio door lines use specific roller assemblies and multi-point lock gear that aftermarket generic parts don’t always mate with cleanly. We recommend OEM for multi-point lock bodies and keep quality aftermarket equivalents for weatherstripping, sweeps, and rollers, where the fit is more forgiving.

Signs Your Therma-Tru Windows & Doors Is Failing
- Draft at the sill or jamb even when locked. The compression weatherstrip on Therma-Tru entry doors loses its rebound after five to seven years of Florida heat cycling. When the foam core goes flat, air moves through gaps you can’t see with the naked eye.
- Condensation or haze between the glass panes. Failed insulated glass unit, or IGU, is common on patio doors that catch afternoon sun on west-facing Orlando walls. The seal between the panes lets go, and humidity from the air works its way in.
- Door scrapes the threshold on the latch side. That’s hinge wear, not a settling foundation. Therma-Tru’s adjustable hinges can correct for a season or two, but once the knuckle wears oblong, the door only gets worse.
- Multi-point lock sticks or won’t throw all three bolts. Dirt and humidity gum up the gearbox inside the lock rail. Forcing the handle chews the internal teeth. Once those strip, the lock body needs replacing rather than lubricating.
- Patio door drags or jumps the track. Roller wheels flatten on Therma-Tru sliding doors after years of use, especially around pool enclosures where fine grit gets into the track. A flat roller wears the aluminum rail too, which compounds the repair cost.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

In Orlando, here’s what we quote for common Therma-Tru repairs and replacements, including parts and labor:
- Weatherstripping and door sweep replacement: $400 – $850
- Hinge replacement (all three, adjusted and aligned): $250 – $650
- Multi-point lock body replacement: $450 – $1,100
- Insulated glass unit replacement (patio door): $600 – $1,800
- Sliding patio door roller assembly replacement: $350 – $900
- Full entry door slab replacement (Therma-Tru compatible): $1,800 – $2,500
What moves the number is mostly the part itself: OEM Therma-Tru multi-point hardware runs higher than aftermarket weatherseal, and replacing the glass in a patio door costs more than fresh weatherstrip on an entry door. Every quote is written, with parts and labor broken out, before any work begins. That’s our standard, not an upgrade. If the replacement part or installation fails within 365 days of completion, we return and make it right at no charge.
DIY or Call Us?
Most Therma-Tru repairs are low-risk for a careful homeowner: cleaning the track, inspecting weatherstrip, checking for loose hinge screws. Those are worth doing yourself. Where we tell Orlando homeowners to stop is the multi-point lock and the glass. The lock body sits inside a routed cavity, and the actuator rods have to be timed correctly to the gear teeth. One tooth off means three deadbolts that only partially throw, and then the door won’t open at all. For insulated glass, the units are heavy, sealed into the frame with gaskets that tear easily, and a wrong size creates a bigger leak than the one you started with. If you’re not certain, call (850) 920-7745 and describe what the door is doing. We’ll tell you over the phone whether it’s worth a service visit or something you can handle with a screwdriver.
FAQs

A Therma-Tru entry door slab will last 20 to 30 years, but the wear parts around it, like weatherstripping, sweeps, and hinges, typically need attention every five to seven years because of Orlando’s humidity and UV exposure. Patio door rollers and lock mechanisms fall in that same window. Plan on one maintenance cycle for every two decades the door itself stays in service. Call (850) 920-7745 and we’ll assess what’s at the end of its life versus what just needs adjusting.
It depends on which part. Hinges can sometimes be adjusted at no cost if they’re within tolerance, and weatherstrip can be cleaned and repositioned once. Multi-point lock bodies and failed insulated glass are replacement-only parts. We’re straightforward about which it is. If a repair is possible, we’ll tell you. If it isn’t, we’ll tell you that too.
Most single-part replacements, like weatherstrip, sweeps, hinges, or rollers, take under two hours on site. A multi-point lock body runs two to three hours. A patio door insulated glass replacement usually requires one visit to measure and a second to install, about a week apart, because the unit is fabricated to size.
We keep the most common wear parts on our trucks: weatherstripping profiles, door sweeps, adjustable hinges, and patio door rollers for the Therma-Tru series most common in Orlando. Multi-point lock bodies and insulated glass units are ordered by model and size, which adds a few days. We also stock parts for KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone products for our remodeling clients.
If your Therma-Tru door or window is giving you trouble, call (850) 920-7745 for a free estimate. A live person answers, and we’ll give you a straight answer about what it costs and when we can be there.
