ViewLux Kitchen Remodeling: The Orlando Owner’s Guide
If you have a ViewLux kitchen and a part has failed or is wearing out, we stock ViewLux-compatible hardware and install it throughout Orlando for a typical kitchen remodel range of $14,000 to $45,000, depending on what has to be replaced and how far the failure spread. Most owners find us the same way: a drawer slide lets go, a soft-close hinge snaps, a cabinet door starts sagging, or a pull-out shelf rail jams. What starts as one irritating part usually turns out to be the first sign that the kitchen’s hardware has hit the end of its service life, and replacing parts piecemeal costs more over time than doing it right once.
We are an independent Orlando remodeling contractor. We are not affiliated with ViewLux, and we do not sell counterfeit or “ViewLux-brand” parts from gray-market suppliers. What we do is match the correct OEM or quality aftermarket part to your exact cabinet and hinge model, then install it so it works like the day the kitchen was built.
Which ViewLux Models This Applies To

ViewLux cabinetry runs on a limited number of hinge, slide, and lift system platforms, and the key to getting the right part is not the cabinet door style. It is the stamp on the hardware itself. Most ViewLux lines sold in Orlando over the past decade use standard 35mm cup hinges, but the overlay dimension (how far the door overlaps the cabinet frame) varies between the ViewLux Classic, ViewLux Euro, and ViewLux Full-Access series. A 1/2-inch overlay hinge from a Classic line will not sit flush on a Full-Access door, and forcing it will crack the door face. We measure the overlay before ordering anything.
Here is the compatibility gotcha we see most often in Orlando: ViewLux cabinets sold in humid climates like central Florida are specified with nickel-plated or stainless hinge cups to resist corrosion, but some online retailers ship zinc-plated versions for the same part number. Zinc-plated hinges will start pitting within two seasons near a dishwasher or under a sink. We verify the plating spec, not just the part number. For slides, the ViewLux soft-close undermount rail is a 3/4-extension slide with a 100-pound rating on the Full-Access series and a 75-pound rating on the Classic. If you put the 75-pound slide on a Full-Access pot drawer, it will fail inside a year.

Signs Your ViewLux Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing
- The drawer closes with a thud instead of a soft catch. The soft-close damper inside the slide has blown its internal seal. This is the most common ViewLux failure in Orlando kitchens, and it happens faster in homes that run the AC hard in summer, because the drier air shrinks the damper’s rubber seal until it cracks. Once one damper goes, the drawer slams, and the impact cracks the damper on the opposite side within weeks.
- A cabinet door drifts open on its own or hangs lower than its neighbor. The hinge cup has wallowed out its screw holes in the door panel, or the hinge spring has fatigued. If you tighten the screw and it spins without grabbing, the particleboard behind it has given up, and the fix is a hinge repair plate or a door replacement, not a longer screw.
- You have to lift the drawer to close it. The slide’s ball-bearing carrier has worn a flat spot on one side. This is a slide replacement, and it is worth doing before the worn side gouges the drawer box itself.
- The pull-out shelf sticks halfway, then jerks free. A roller has seized on its axle, usually from a buildup of cooking grease mixed with Florida dust. The shelf will keep working for a while, but every jerk stresses the mounting brackets until they strip out of the cabinet side.
- The lift-up door on an upper cabinet will not stay open. The gas strut or the mechanical lift mechanism has lost pressure. This one is common in Orlando kitchens with high ceilings, where heat collects up top and bakes the strut seals. It is a straightforward swap, but the strut rating has to match the door weight exactly or the door will either slam shut or never fully open.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

In Orlando, a full ViewLux-compatible kitchen remodel runs $14,000 to $45,000 installed. A small kitchen or partial refresh with new cabinet hardware, slides, hinges, and a countertop lands closer to $9,000 to $20,000. If all you need is replacement hardware without new cabinets, we handle that as a service call with parts billed at cost plus labor, but we will tell you straight when piecemeal repairs no longer make sense.
What swings the number is scope. Replacing the cabinet boxes themselves puts you at the top of the range. Replacing doors, drawer fronts, hardware, and countertops sits in the middle. Swapping out failing slides and hinges throughout the kitchen, then re-aligning every door, is the low end. Here is what a typical ViewLux refresh looks like in Orlando:
- Full cabinet replacement (ViewLux-compatible): $4,000 – $13,000
- Countertop installation (Cambria, Silestone, or Caesarstone): $2,000 – $6,500
- Backsplash installation: $800 – $2,500
- Kitchen island installation or modification: $3,000 – $10,000
- Hardware and slide replacement throughout (parts and labor): included in a remodel scope, or quoted as a flat service fee on a repair-only visit
Every estimate is written before work starts, with parts and labor separated so you see exactly what each line item costs. No verbal number that grows later. Every completed project carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if something we installed is not right within a year of completion, we come back and make it right at no charge.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely do a few checks before calling anyone. Open every drawer and feel for resistance. Close every door and watch for drift. Look at the hinge cups for rust or pitting. Write down what is failing and where, and pull the brand stamp off one hinge or slide if you can read it. That saves us a trip and saves you time.
Where DIY goes wrong is the install. Cabinet hinges and undermount slides are not forgiving. The mounting tolerance is about 1/16 of an inch, and if the drawer is off even that much, it will bind, the soft-close will not catch, and the slide will wear unevenly. We have also seen more than one Orlando homeowner strip a door panel by running a screw one turn too deep. If you are comfortable with the diagnosis but not the repair, call us at (850) 920-7745. We will quote the parts and labor over the phone and have it fixed before you have time to overthink it.
FAQs

ViewLux soft-close slides and hinges typically last 8 to 12 years in Orlando’s climate, but the humidity near a dishwasher or sink can cut that to 5 to 7 years. If your kitchen is past year ten, replacing all the hardware now is cheaper than reacting to one failure at a time. Call (850) 920-7745 and we will give you a straight read on whether you are in repair territory or replacement territory.
A hinge with a fatigued spring or a slide with a blown damper is replaced, not repaired. These parts are sealed units, and there is no serviceable component inside. If the screw holes in a cabinet door are stripped, that is repairable with a hinge repair plate in most cases, which we do on a service call. For an exact quote on your specific hardware, call (850) 920-7745.
A hardware-only replacement on a standard Orlando kitchen is a one-day job. A full remodel with cabinets, countertops, and backsplash runs three to six weeks depending on material lead times and the scope of the demo. We give you a written schedule before we start and update you if anything moves. Call (850) 920-7745 to get a timeline for your specific project.
We keep common ViewLux-compatible soft-close hinges, drawer slides, dampers, and lift mechanisms on our trucks, along with parts for KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone. Uncommon sizes and plating specs are ordered, and we verify the spec against your existing hardware before placing the order. Call (850) 920-7745 with the stamp from your existing part and we will tell you if it is on the truck today.
