Techo-Bloc Driveway & Pavers: The Orlando Owner’s Guide
Techo-Bloc paver driveway installation in Orlando typically runs $7,000 to $18,000 for a standard two-car driveway, depending on square footage, base prep, and paver series. We stock Techo-Bloc compatible pavers and edge restraints, and we can usually start a repair or partial replacement within a few business days. Most Orlando homeowners discover a problem the way you probably just did: a paver that’s sunk half an inch after a summer downpour, an edge row that’s spreading into the lawn, or a stain that won’t come out no matter what you scrub on it.
We’re Mason Remodeling Co Orlando, an independent Techo-Bloc installer and parts source. We’re not affiliated with Techo-Bloc corporate, but we’ve been working with their pavers in Central Florida long enough to know which series fail where and why. When you call (850) 920-7745, you’ll talk to a person, not a phone tree.
Which Techo-Bloc Models This Applies To

Techo-Bloc makes several paver lines, and Orlando driveways most often use three of them: the Blu 60 (a smooth, modern rectangular paver), the Industria (an architectural slab look with sharper edges), and the Victorien (a classic tumbled paver that hides wear better than anything else out here). The compatibility gotcha most people miss is thickness: Blu 60 comes in 60mm and 80mm versions, and the 80mm is what a driveway needs. The 60mm is rated for patios and foot traffic only. If a previous installer put 60mm pavers on a driveway, that’s your failure point, and no amount of polymeric sand is going to fix it.
Identifying your exact paver is easier than you think. Flip over a loose paver. Techo-Bloc stamps the series name and plant code on the underside. The color blend (like Shale Grey, Sandalwood, or Chestnut Brown) can be matched from a photo, but aging and Florida sun fade colors, so we always recommend matching from the physical paver, not a catalog. For edge restraints, the Techo-Bloc system uses a specific aluminum or plastic edge that locks the border course. Generic big-box edging doesn’t grab Techo-Bloc’s dimensions as well, and we’ve seen driveways lose their shape within two years of a cheap edge install.
On the OEM versus aftermarket question for replacement parts: edge restraints and polymeric sand have solid aftermarket options that perform as well as Techo-Bloc branded versions. The pavers themselves? Buy Techo-Bloc. Mixing a lookalike paver from another brand into a Techo-Bloc field will show within a year as the color weathers differently. We pull pavers from the same Techo-Bloc plants and color blends whenever we do a repair, so the patch disappears.

Signs Your Techo-Bloc Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
- Sunken or depressed areas in the tire tracks. This is almost always base failure. In Orlando, the culprit is usually insufficient compacted base or organic soil that was never removed before the pavers went down. The paver itself is fine, but it’s sitting on a foundation that’s quietly washing away during every afternoon thunderstorm.
- Spreading edges along the driveway border. The edge restraint has failed or was never installed properly. Once the border course can move, the interlock weakens and the whole field starts to wander outward. You’ll see a gap grow between the driveway and the lawn or flower bed.
- Efflorescence (white chalky film) that keeps returning. Central Florida humidity and irrigation water pull minerals up through the paver. Techo-Bloc pavers are dense enough that this is usually a cosmetic issue, not structural, but if it’s paired with spalling, moisture is getting trapped. We can tell you which is which in about five minutes.
- Chipped or spalled edges on individual pavers. Paver-on-paver contact with no sand joint cushion causes this. It means the sand has washed out and pavers are grinding against each other every time a car rolls over them. Left alone, the chipping spreads and the interlock degrades.
- Weeds or ant colonies erupting through the joints. Polymeric sand has broken down or was never installed. In Orlando, fire ants love paver joints. Once they excavate the sand, water gets underneath and the base starts washing out from below.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

For a Techo-Bloc driveway repair or partial replacement in Orlando, you’re looking at $7,000 to $18,000 for a full installation, with smaller isolated repairs (a sunken 8×10 section, a failed edge row, a handful of cracked pavers) typically landing in the $800 to $3,000 range depending on what’s underneath. A full driveway replacement includes excavation of the failed base, new compacted base material, geotextile fabric where the soil is sandy (most of Orange County), the pavers, edge restraints, polymeric sand, and haul-away of the old material. That’s the written price you’ll get before we start, not a verbal ballpark that grows later.
| Service | Typical Orlando Price Range |
|---|---|
| Isolated paver repair (small area, base intact) | $800 – $3,000 |
| Edge restraint replacement (per linear section) | $15 – $30 per linear foot |
| Full paver driveway installation | $7,000 – $18,000 |
| Driveway replacement (tear-out + new install) | $5,000 – $14,000 |
| Paver patio installation | $3,500 – $11,000 |
Every driveway job we do includes the 365-Day Done Right Promise: if the work isn’t right within a year of completion, we make it right at no cost to you. That’s in writing, and it covers what we installed and how it performs after a full Orlando rainy season. No conditions to fight through.
DIY or Call Us?
Here’s where I’ll be straight with you. You can absolutely pull up one or two pavers, inspect the base, and snug a loose edge restraint back into place. That’s homeowner-level work, and it’ll teach you a lot about your driveway. What I wouldn’t do yourself is anything involving more than a few pavers, any repair where the base has washed out, or any edge repair that’s failed more than once. The reason is simple: paver failure in Orlando is almost always a base problem, and a base problem doesn’t show itself until you’ve got half the driveway pulled apart. At that point, you need a compactor, base material, and someone who has done this enough to know when the subgrade itself needs to come out.
Isaac Pruett, our owner, has been doing this long enough to know the difference between a paver problem and a base problem before we lift a single stone. If you’re not sure what you’re dealing with, call (850) 920-7745. Tell me what the problem is. We’ll figure out the rest from there.
FAQs

Techo-Bloc pavers installed with a proper base will last 25 to 40 years in the Orlando climate before you’ll need to think about replacing individual pavers, not the whole field. The base underneath is usually the first thing to fail, not the paver. The Florida sun will fade some colors more than others, and that’s a reason to keep a few spares from your original pallet if you saved them.
Yes, most of the time. If the failure is isolated to one area (sunken tire track, a cracked paver, a shifted edge), we can repair that section without touching the rest of the driveway. What determines repairability is the base: if the base has washed out across a wide area, a patch job will fail again within a season. Call (850) 920-7745 and we’ll give you an honest read on it, usually without needing to pull anything up first.
An isolated paver repair is typically a one-day job. A full driveway replacement in Orlando takes three to five working days depending on size, base condition, and weather. We schedule around the afternoon thunderstorm pattern when we can, and we’ll tell you the window before we start.
We keep common Techo-Bloc edge restraints, polymeric sand, and a rotating stock of pavers from the most popular Orlando series on hand for repairs. If we don’t have your exact color blend, we order it direct from the Techo-Bloc plant and have it on site within days. We also stock materials for other brands we work with, including KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone.
