Cambridge Pavers Roofing: The Orlando Owner’s Guide
Cambridge Pavers roofing components – ridge caps, starter strips, hip and ridge units, and field tiles – are specialty pieces, and when one fails, it’s rarely a generic fix. In Orlando, expect to pay $400 – $1,800 for a Cambridge Pavers-compatible roof repair, with full component replacement on larger sections running higher depending on what’s actually compromised.
Most Orlando homeowners discover a problem the same way: a rust-colored stain on the ceiling after a hard afternoon downpour, or a paver that’s visibly cracked and shifted after a summer storm rolled through. The Florida sun and our afternoon deluges don’t just age roofs – they punish them. UV exposure breaks down the polymer binders in manufactured roofing products, and the thermal expansion cycle (roof surface temps in Orlando can swing 60 degrees in a day) eventually causes micro-fractures that let water in. You notice the leak. We find the failed component.
We stock Cambridge Pavers-compatible roofing units and can match most current and recent product lines. Call (850) 920-7745 and tell us what you’re seeing – we’ll walk you through identifying the part before we ever schedule a truck.
Which Cambridge Pavers Models This Applies To

Cambridge Pavers manufactures a range of roofing and hardscape products, and their roofing line includes concrete roof tiles, simulated slate, and barrel-style profiles. The critical compatibility factor with Cambridge Pavers roofing is the interlocking profile – their tiles are designed with a specific side-lap and head-lap geometry. A Cambridge tile will not seat correctly against a competitor’s tile, even if the dimensions look close. If you, or a previous owner’s contractor, installed a mix of brands, that’s frequently where leaks begin.
To identify your exact model, look at the underside of any loose replacement tile (or the unexposed edge on the eaves). Cambridge Pavers stamps each tile with a series code and batch number. If that stamp has faded beyond reading – and ten years of Orlando sun will do exactly that – measure the tile’s width at the widest point and check the side-lap profile. We can match from measurements, but the stamped code is faster and more reliable.
On the OEM-versus-aftermarket question for Cambridge Pavers specifically: quality aftermarket equivalents exist and cost roughly 30 – 40% less than OEM, but the color match is never perfect. A roof that’s been baking in Florida for even three years has developed a patina from UV and rain. OEM from a current production run won’t match perfectly either, honestly. If the failed section is on a slope you see from the street, we’ll recommend ordering OEM for the closest color match and being upfront that no replacement tile matches a 5-year-old roof exactly. If it’s on the back slope nobody sees, aftermarket saves real money without sacrificing the interlock integrity that matters for waterproofing.
Mason Remodeling Co Orlando is an independent service provider and not affiliated with Cambridge Pavers. We work with their products because they’re widely spec’d across Orlando and we think they perform well in our climate – but we’ll tell you that plainly whether the job involves their parts or a more cost-effective equivalent.

Signs Your Cambridge Pavers Roofing Is Failing
- Interior water stains after rain. A single cracked or shifted field tile lets water hit the underlayment. One tile failing doesn’t mean roof replacement – it means that tile failed, and you need it swapped before the underlayment rots. Wait and you turn a $600 repair into a roof deck replacement. We see this in Orlando constantly, particularly in the Conway and Belle Isle neighborhoods where mature oak canopies drop branches onto tiles during storms.
- Visible cracking or surface spalling on individual tiles. Concrete tiles expand and contract. Hairline cracks let moisture in, and in Orlando’s wet-dry cycle, that moisture erodes the tile from inside. Spalling – the flaking or pitting of the tile surface – is cosmetic until it isn’t. Once the surface has failed, the tile’s water resistance is compromised.
- Loose or displaced tiles after wind events. Cambridge Pavers tiles interlock, but a strong gust can still lift an edge if the fastening has degraded. A displaced tile that’s caught on the gutter is an obvious call. The less obvious one is a tile that shifted three inches and looks fine from the ground but now has a broken interlock that channels water sideways into the roof deck.
- Crumbling mortar or failing fasteners at ridge caps and hips. The ridge line takes the most direct sun and the most direct wind. Mortar at hips and ridges in Orlando typically needs attention every 10 – 15 years. A failing ridge cap is the most common point of water entry we find on Cambridge Pavers roofs that are otherwise in good shape.
- Granule loss or a gritty residue at gutter downspouts. On Cambridge Pavers’ simulated slate and barrel tiles, the surface coating wears off over time. Some granule loss is normal, especially in the first year after installation. Steady accumulation five years in means the surface coating is degrading faster than it should – and that tilt is usually a drainage or UV exposure problem worth investigating before it becomes a leak.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

In the Orlando market, Cambridge Pavers-compatible roof repair runs $400 – $1,800 for most discrete failures – a cracked field tile, a failed ridge cap, a displaced starter strip. Full tile roof replacement in Orlando is a different job entirely; that ranges $8,000 – $20,000 depending on roof size, slope complexity, and whether the underlayment is being redone (on a Cambridge Pavers roof over 15 years old, it usually should be).
What drives the range on a repair? Two things. First, access: a single-story ranch in Winter Park with a 4/12 pitch is a straighter job than a two-story with a 7/12 pitch and a chimney in the way. Second, whether this is isolated or symptom of a larger issue. What starts as “one cracked tile” is sometimes the first sign of failing underlayment beneath a drainage problem area. We’ll tell you what we find, show you photos, and quote the repair and only the repair.
Every quote from us is a written line-item price delivered before any work starts. That’s not a promotion. It’s how we’ve operated since 2004, and it applies whether we’re replacing one Cambridge Pavers tile or handling a full bathroom remodel. You’ll know what the part costs, what the labor costs, and what the total is – before we touch your roof. The work itself carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if it’s not right within a year of completion, we make it right at no cost to you.
DIY or Call Us?
This is where we earn our keep. Working on any roof in Orlando is dangerous – tile roofs especially. Concrete tiles are heavy, they’re slick when even slightly damp (which in Orlando is every morning), and falls from single-story heights are permanently life-altering. We don’t give DIY instructions for anything that puts you on a ladder against a roofline, and we won’t pretend that’s a reasonable Saturday project. It isn’t.
What you can safely check: from the ground with binoculars, look for visibly cracked, missing, or shifted tiles. Check your attic for daylight penetration or water staining on the underside of the decking after rain. Clean leaves and debris out of valleys and gutters so water isn’t backing up under the tile course. If you find damage, document it with a photo from the ground and call us.
What goes wrong when owners try it themselves: the tile breaks during removal because the interlock wasn’t released properly. The replacement tile isn’t seated flat and water sneaks under the course. The flashing wasn’t replaced or resealed, so the new tile leaks exactly where the old one did. Or worst case, a ladder slips on a dewy Orlando morning and the DIY project becomes a hospital trip.
Call (850) 920-7745. Tell us what you’re seeing. If you’ve got a photo, even better – our estimator can often give you a preliminary range before we ever set foot on the property.
FAQs

In Orlando’s climate, Cambridge Pavers concrete roof tiles typically last 30 – 50 years on the field of the roof, but the underlayment beneath them rarely lasts past 20 years. The ridge caps, hips, and flashings wear faster – typically 15 – 20 years in our UV and storm exposure. If a Cambridge Pavers roof is over 20 years old and starting to show failures at the ridge line, plan for underlayment replacement in the not-distant future. Call (850) 920-7745 if you want an honest assessment of where your roof sits in that timeline.
Not reliably, no. There are concrete patch products marketed for roof tile repair, but on an interlocking Cambridge Pavers profile, any patch changes the surface geometry and interferes with the water channel. The patch also expands and contracts at a different rate than the surrounding concrete in Orlando’s heat cycles, so it separates within a season or two. Replacement is the only repair that lasts.
A single tile swap or ridge cap repair typically takes 2 – 4 hours on site, including setup and cleanup. We isolate the affected course, release the interlock, swap the tile, and test the seal. Most Orlando repairs of this scope are done the same day we arrive.
We stock common Cambridge Pavers-compatible components – ridge caps, hip units, and standard field tile profiles in the most common Orlando colors – on our service vehicles. Less common series or specific color batches are ordered direct and arrive within 3 – 7 business days. When you call, if you can read us the stamped series code from the underside of a tile you already have, we can tell you whether the part is on the truck or needs to be ordered.
