ActiveYards Fence Installation: The Orlando Owner’s Guide
ActiveYards fence installation in Orlando typically runs $3,500 to $9,000 installed, depending on linear footage, style, and gate hardware. Most full installations take 1 to 3 days once materials are on site. We keep common ActiveYards posts, rails, and pickets stocked locally, so you’re not waiting on a distributor to ship from out of state.
The way most Orlando homeowners discover they need us is simple: a post started leaning after a summer storm, a gate drags against the concrete slab, or a section of pickets warped hard in the humidity. Sometimes it’s a failed part from the original install. Sometimes it’s wind damage. Either way, the fence isn’t doing its job: keeping kids in, keeping dogs in, keeping the yard yours.
Which ActiveYards Models This Applies To

ActiveYards makes two main residential lines we work with regularly: the Standard aluminum fence and the ActiveYards Select series with heavier-gauge posts and reinforced rails. The tricky part for Orlando homeowners is that the two lines look nearly identical from across the yard. The difference shows up in the post wall thickness and the picket-to-rail connection, which means a Standard post won’t accept a Select rail without an adapter bracket and a shim.
We match by measuring the post dimensions and checking the punch pattern on the rail before ordering anything. ActiveYards stamps a part code on the inside face of most rails, but after a few Central Florida summers, that stamp is often faded or covered in mildew. If you can’t read the code, send us a photo of the post cap and the top rail channel. We’ll tell you what you’re looking at. For ActiveYards specifically, we recommend OEM posts and gates. The aftermarket pickets and rails hold up fine, but posts take the structural load, and the OEM post wall spec is what keeps your gate from sagging in sandy Florida soil.

Signs Your ActiveYards Fence Installation Is Failing
- A post is leaning or has shifted off center. This usually means the concrete footing cracked or the post corroded at ground level. In Orlando, we see this most on the sunset side of the yard where sprinklers hit the same post every morning.
- The gate won’t close without a shove or a shim. ActiveYards gates are light, which is great until the hinge screws wallow out their holes. Once the hinge moves, the gate gets a quarter-inch of play, then a half-inch, and then you’re lifting it every time.
- Pickets are popping out of the bottom rail. ActiveYards snaps pickets into place with small locking tabs. After years of UV exposure and heat expansion, those tabs get brittle and snap. A few popped pickets turns into a whole section leaning.
- White residue or pitting at the rail-to-post connection. That’s galvanic corrosion. It happens when the factory powder coat gets scratched during install and bare aluminum sits against a dissimilar metal screw. Salt from the Gulf air accelerates it in Orlando more than people expect.
- The gate latch won’t catch the strike plate anymore. Usually the post moved, not the latch. But if the latch spring is rusted, that’s a quick hardware swap, not a full fence reset.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

For a typical Orlando backyard, a full ActiveYards fence installation runs $3,500 to $9,000. That includes removing the old fence and hauling it away, setting new posts in concrete, hanging the rails and pickets, installing the gate hardware, and cleaning up the job site. We write the price before we start, and it doesn’t move unless you change the scope.
What moves the number within that range:
- Linear footage: an 80-foot run costs less than a 200-foot run, obviously, but the per-foot rate drops on longer runs.
- Gate count and width: a double-drive gate costs more than a single walk gate, and custom widths add fabrication time.
- Post condition: if existing posts are sound, we can sometimes reuse them and cut the price. If they’re corroded, they come out.
- Access: if we’re carrying 21-foot rails through a side yard with no gate opening, that’s more labor.
Every ActiveYards fence we install is covered by the 365-Day Done Right Promise. If a post shifts, a gate sags, or a picket fails within a year of completion, we fix it at no cost to you.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely check a few things yourself: look for cracked footings, wiggle each post, and note whether the gate drags at the latch or the hinge. What you shouldn’t do is dig up and re-set a post that’s carrying a gate. A sagging gate post under tension can snap when it’s unbolted, and in Orlando’s sandy soil, you need a wider and deeper footing than the original installer probably poured. That’s the fix, not a tamper and a bag of Quikrete.
If the fence is aluminum, there’s no splinter risk like wood, but the real hazard is thinking the fix is simpler than it is. We’ve redone enough weekend projects to say this plainly: the second trip costs more than the first call would have. Call (850) 920-7745 and tell us what the problem is. We’ll figure out the rest from there.
FAQs

Realistically, 15 to 20 years for the aluminum structure, with hardware like gate hinges and latches needing replacement around year 8 to 10. Florida humidity and salt air shorten the hardware lifespan faster than the panels. A well-installed ActiveYards fence with stainless hardware can outlast the house’s paint job twice over. Call (850) 920-7745 for an honest read on whether yours is worth repairing.
Yes, if the rest of the fence is structurally sound. We replace individual posts, rails, and picket sections all the time. The judgment call is whether the undamaged sections are close enough to the end of their life that patching becomes a recurring bill. We’ll tell you straight which one you’re in.
Most residential installs in Orlando wrap up in 1 to 3 days, weather permitting. The concrete needs a full day to cure before we hang the gate, so even a small run is usually a two-day job once the demo is counted. We keep you posted if afternoon thunderstorms push the schedule.
We stock the most common ActiveYards posts, rails, pickets, and gate hardware for the Standard and Select lines. If you need an unusual post cap or a custom gate width, we order it and it’s usually here within a week. We’ll also tell you if a quality aftermarket part will do the job for less. Call (850) 920-7745 with your part code or a photo, and we’ll confirm what we have on hand.
