CWS Roofing: The Orlando Owner’s Guide
If you have a CWS roof and something on it has failed, we stock and install CWS-compatible roofing parts across Orlando. Most CWS roofing repairs in this market run between $400 and $1,800 installed, depending on what failed and how much of the system it took with it. You usually find out the hard way: a water stain spreads across the ceiling after a storm, or you spot a lifted shingle from the driveway and realize it’s been flapping in the wind since the last front moved through.
We’re an independent service provider, not affiliated with CWS. That matters because it means we can be straight with you about what’s worth repairing, what should be replaced, and when an aftermarket part makes more sense than chasing an OEM match. Isaac Pruett, who runs Mason Remodeling Co Orlando, learned this trade at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College and has spent decades on real roofs in real weather. Florida weather, specifically, is its own education.
Which CWS Models This Applies To

CWS roofing systems in Orlando generally fall into a few common profiles: architectural asphalt shingle systems, standing seam metal panels, and tile. The parts that fail, and what we match them to, depend on which system you have. Before you order anything, check the paperwork from your original install or the label inside the attic access. CWS shingle systems typically carry bundle codes printed on the underside of the shingle itself, and metal systems have panel stamps on the backside of the panel, usually a gauge and a profile number.
The compatibility gotcha we see most often: CWS metal roof panels are not interchangeable with the generic standing seam profiles sold at the big Orlando supply houses. The rib height and seam lock geometry differ by as much as a quarter inch, which is enough to cause a leak at the seam even when the panel looks right from the ground. For shingle systems, the good news is that CWS architectural shingles match standard dimensional profiles from major manufacturers, so a quality aftermarket match is usually available and holds up just as well as OEM, often for less money. Tile is the exception. A cracked CWS tile almost always needs an exact profile match because color batch and barrel curvature vary enough that a mismatch looks wrong from the street and can channel water differently. We keep common CWS tile profiles in our Orlando shop and can source odd profiles within a few days.

Signs Your CWS Roofing Is Failing
- Water staining on ceilings or walls, especially after a hard Orlando afternoon storm. This means the underlayment has been breached and water is getting past the surface layer. By the time you see the stain, the leak has usually been active for weeks.
- Granules collecting in gutters or at the base of downspouts. CWS architectural shingles shed granules as the asphalt binder ages, and Florida’s UV load accelerates that. Heavy granule loss means the shingle is losing its weather surface and will start cracking next.
- Lifted, curled, or missing shingles after a wind event. Orlando gets real wind, not just afternoon gusts. A lifted shingle breaks the seal strip and allows wind-driven rain underneath the surrounding shingles, which is how a small problem turns into a broad underlayment failure.
- Fastener heads backing out on a metal CWS roof. You’ll spot this as small bumps under the panel surface or screws that look raised. When the neoprene washer under the fastener fails, which it does faster in Florida heat than you’d think, water follows the fastener straight into the decking.
- Daylight visible through the attic, or a musty smell in the top floor. Both mean the roof envelope has been compromised long enough for the inside of the system to stay damp. In Orlando’s humidity, that dampness becomes mold faster than most homeowners expect.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

Here’s what we’re quoting Orlando homeowners, with the understanding that every roof is different and these are installed prices, parts and labor together:
- Shingle repair or small section replacement: $400 – $1,800, depending on the square footage affected and whether underlayment needs to be cut out and replaced.
- Tile roof repair (cracked or slipped tile): $600 – $2,500, driven by whether we can walk the roof safely or need a lift, and whether the profile is one we stock in the shop.
- Metal roof panel replacement or seam repair: $800 – $2,500, depending on the number of panels and whether the seam lock needs to be re-formed to match the CWS profile.
- Full roof replacement, if the damage is beyond patching: $8,000 – $20,000 for architectural shingles, or $15,000 – $40,000 for a metal CWS-compatible system.
What drives the range is the same thing every honest roofer will tell you: how much of the underlayment has gone with the visible damage, whether we’re working on a single-story ranch or a two-story with a steep pitch, and whether the CWS profile is something we can match in a day or need to order. You get a written price before any work starts. Not a verbal guess. A written line-item price. And every repair carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise. If the work isn’t right within a year of completion, we make it right at no cost to you.
DIY or Call Us?
Here’s the honest split. What you can safely do from the ground or from a ladder that doesn’t put you on the roof: look for lifted shingles, missing tiles, and backed-out fasteners. Take photos. Compare what you see to what the other side of the roof looks like. That tells us a lot before we even arrive, and it costs you nothing. What you should not do is get on a CWS tile roof to inspect a crack yourself. Tile is brittle, it gets slick with even a little Orlando humidity, and a fall from a roof eave is a life-changing event, not a weekend project. Same goes for metal roofs: the seams and ribs in a CWS panel system are load-bearing only in specific spots, and an untrained foot in the wrong place buckles the panel and turns a $600 repair into a $2,500 replacement. If you’ve spotted the problem, call us. Tell me what the problem is. We’ll figure out the rest from there.
FAQs

A CWS architectural shingle system in the Orlando climate typically carries a 25-to-30-year manufacturer rating, but the real-world service life here is closer to 18 to 22 years because of the UV load, the humidity, and the wind cycling we get every summer. Metal CWS systems hold up longer, often 35 to 50 years, but the fasteners and seam washers need attention around the 15-to-20-year mark. Call (850) 920-7745 and we’ll tell you what your particular roof is telling us.
Repair is the right call more often than roofers at replacement companies will admit, provided the underlayment is still intact and the damage is localized. Once water has gotten under the surface and the decking is soft, patching is throwing money at a problem that’s going to come back. We’ll tell you which one you have after we look, and we’ll put that in writing before you spend a dollar.
A single shingle or tile repair on a CWS roof in Orlando is usually a half-day job from setup to cleanup, assuming we have the matching part on the truck, which we do for common CWS shingle colors and tile profiles. A metal seam re-form or panel replacement can run a full day because the seam geometry has to be done carefully to keep the water path correct.
We stock common CWS architectural shingle colors, fasteners, underlayment, and the tile profiles we see most often across Orlando. Odd metal panel profiles and unusual tile batches we source from our supply partners, typically inside three to five business days. Call (850) 920-7745 with your model or profile information and we’ll tell you exactly what we have and what we can get.
If your CWS roof is showing signs of trouble, don’t wait for the next Orlando storm to tell you how bad it is. Call (850) 920-7745 for a free estimate. A live person answers, day or night, and you’ll get a written price before any work starts. We also stock parts for KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone systems, in case the roof is just one thing on your list.
