Delta Fence Installation: The Orlando Owner’s Guide

Delta fence installation in Orlando typically runs $3,500 to $9,000 for a full perimeter job, depending on linear footage, material choice, and whether we’re pulling permits for a new build or swapping panels on an existing line. Most Orlando homeowners call us when a section has rotted at the base, a post has heaved out of alignment after a summer storm, or the gate no longer latches square. The failure almost never shows up all at once. It starts as a soft spot in one post, a panel that rattles in the wind, a gate that drags across the pavers. Then one Saturday morning you’re looking at a 20-foot run leaning toward your neighbor’s lanai.

We stock Delta-compatible fence components on our trucks and install them to Orlando’s wind and soil conditions. If you’re not sure whether your failing part is worth saving or needs a full section replacement, that’s exactly what we sort out on the first visit. Written price before any work starts, every time.

Which Delta Models This Applies To

Delta manufactures fence systems under several product lines, and the installation approach differs meaningfully between them. The main families we work with in Orlando are the Delta Privacy line (solid vinyl panels, 6×8 or 5×8 sections, routed post channels), the Delta Semi-Privacy line (spaced pickets with a shadowbox profile), and the Delta Estate series (heavier 4×4 and 5×5 posts with aluminum reinforcement inserts). Each series uses a slightly different post wall thickness and bottom rail profile, which matters when you’re replacing one panel in the middle of a run.

The fastest way to identify your Delta part: look for the manufacturer stamp on the inside of the top rail or on the post cap underside. Most Delta fence posts carry a molded identification code near the base. If the stamp is worn or painted over, measure the wall thickness of the post at the top opening. Delta Privacy posts run .135 to .150 inches thick; Estate series posts run .180 and up. That measurement tells us whether an aftermarket post will match the existing line or whether you need a genuine Delta replacement to keep the reveal lines tight.

One compatibility gotcha we run into often in Orlando: Delta changed its bottom rail design around 2018. Pre-2018 panels used a notched bottom rail that slides into a groove in the post; post-2018 panels use a full-width rail that butts against the post face. If you mix generations on the same run, the panel heights will be off by about half an inch and the seam will read wrong from the street. We match generations on every repair. When the original generation is discontinued, we’ll tell you before we quote, not after we open the panel box.

We also stock and install compatible fence components for KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone product lines when homeowners need a mixed-material solution, such as a Delta vinyl fence paired with a Silestone-topped outdoor kitchen island.

Signs Your Delta Fence Installation Is Failing

  • Post lean at the base. In Orlando’s sandy, fast-draining soil, vinyl and aluminum posts can shift after heavy rain cycles, especially if the original installer set them in less than 24 inches of concrete. You’ll see a post tilting 2 to 3 degrees with a visible gap at grade.
  • Panel sag or separation at the top rail. Delta panels rely on the top rail to keep pickets square. When the rail’s internal bracket rusts or cracks, the pickets start to fan outward, especially on west-facing runs that bake in the afternoon sun.
  • Gate drag or latch misalignment. Orlando’s humidity causes wood-grain vinyl to swell slightly, and metal gate frames expand with heat. A gate that latched cleanly in January and drags by July usually means the hinge post has moved or the gate frame needs re-squaring.
  • White residue or spider cracks at the post base. This is UV degradation and moisture intrusion working together. Florida’s sun is unkind to vinyl over 10 to 12 years, and once micro-cracks open at the base, water gets in and the post starts splitting from the inside.
  • Rattling panels in wind. If a panel knocks against the posts during Orlando’s afternoon thunderstorms, the panel’s bottom rail channel has likely widened or the post’s routed groove has worn. Left alone, the movement will crack the post cap and let rain into the post cavity.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

Installed Delta fence installation in Orlando runs $3,500 to $9,000 for most full-perimeter jobs. Partial replacements are lower, typically $400 to $1,800 depending on how many sections and posts we’re pulling. The range is driven by four things: linear footage, post depth (older Orlando homes sometimes sit on fill soil that requires deeper footers), gate hardware condition, and whether the old concrete footings need demolition or can be re-used.

Every quote includes parts, labor, concrete, haul-away of the old material, and the written guarantee. We deliver a line-item written price before any work begins, so you’ll see exactly what the Delta panels cost, what the posts cost, and what our labor is. No verbal estimate that grows on the final bill. No surprise change orders. If a post footing needs more concrete than expected once we open the hole, that’s our problem to solve within the quoted price, not a reason to hand you a new invoice.

The workmanship is covered for 365 days from the completion date under our 365-Day Done Right Promise. If a post shifts or a panel fails within that year, we come back and make it right at no cost to you.

DIY or Call Us?

There are things you can safely do, and there are things you should not attempt. You can check for loose post caps, tighten gate hinge screws, and look for visible cracking at ground level. Those are useful diagnostics, and a phone photo of what you find helps us quote faster. What we don’t recommend is pulling a leaning post yourself. A 6-foot vinyl post set in concrete can weigh over 200 pounds and has a nasty habit of kicking back when the last bit of footing lets go. We’ve also pulled posts in Orlando that were wired to low-voltage landscape lighting, which makes for a bad afternoon if you don’t cut the line first.

If you’ve got a Delta fence that needs real work, call us at (850) 920-7745. We’ll send a background-checked, uniformed technician with a photo ID badge, introduce them by name and photo before they arrive, and give you a written price before a single tool comes off the truck.
