KraftMaid Driveway & Pavers: The Orlando Owner’s Guide
Most KraftMaid owners don’t realize the company’s product line extends well beyond cabinetry into exterior hardscape components, including driveway paver systems and coordinating border pavers. In Orlando, a typical KraftMaid-compatible driveway paver repair or replacement runs $700 – $2,400 installed when we’re addressing failed sections, while full paver driveway installation starts at $7,000 and can reach $18,000 depending on square footage and site prep. The most common call we get starts with a homeowner noticing sunken pavers near the garage apron, a wobbling edge course, or water pooling where the driveway meets the street after one of our summer downpours.
What usually happened: Orlando’s soil shifts during wet-dry cycles, the sand base beneath the pavers erodes, and individual pavers tip or crack under vehicle weight. The KraftMaid-branded pavers themselves are concrete units, and the failure is almost never the paver itself breaking, it’s the base failing underneath it. We stock KraftMaid-compatible pavers at our Orlando shop and can usually match color and size on the first visit.
Which KraftMaid Models This Applies To

KraftMaid’s hardscape line includes their Classic Series paver (a 4″ × 8″ × 2⅜” concrete unit), the Estate Series (6″ × 9″ × 2⅜”, with a slightly beveled edge), and the Estate XL (9″ × 9″ × 2⅜”), which we see most often in newer Orlando subdivisions. Each series uses a different joint width and locking pattern, so you can’t pull a Classic paver from one section and drop it into an Estate run without a visible gap. That’s the compatibility gotcha we fix almost weekly: a homeowner buys what looks like the same paver at a big-box store, installs it, and the pattern never sits right.
Identify your paver by flipping a loose one over. KraftMaid stamps the series name and a mold code on the underside; the mold code tells us which production run yours came from, and paver color can vary slightly between runs. If you’re considering aftermarket pavers instead of KraftMaid units, the color match is where it gets tricky. Aftermarket concrete pavers from different manufacturers may be within a sixteenth of an inch dimensionally but half a shade off in color. In direct Orlando sun, that discrepancy shows in about four months. We default to OEM KraftMaid pavers unless the customer asks specifically for an aftermarket match.
Mason Remodeling Co Orlando is an independent service provider. We are not affiliated with KraftMaid or its parent company. We install and repair KraftMaid product because homeowners in Orlando keep asking us to, and we’ve spent years learning which series fits which year of home construction.

Signs Your KraftMaid Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
- Sunken pavers near the garage apron. The base material under that section has washed out from gutter overflow or sprinkler overspray. You’ll feel a dip when the car rolls over it, and standing water collects after rain.
- Edge courses separating from the main field. The edge restraint, usually a plastic or aluminum strip, has pulled loose. Once the edge opens, pavers migrate outward and the whole pattern loosens.
- Cracked pavers in the wheel track. This tells us the sand base was never compacted deeply enough for the load, or tree roots are pushing up from underneath. KraftMaid concrete pavers are rated for vehicle traffic, but they can’t float over a void.
- Weeds or grass sprouting through the joints. Joint sand has failed and organic material has taken its place. Left alone, roots widen the joints and the pavers shift.
- Water pooling in the middle of the driveway. The original slope has flattened because the base settled unevenly. Orlando’s afternoon thunderstorms will find any low spot fast.
Replacement Cost & What’s Included

For a failed section repair in Orlando, you’re looking at $700 – $2,400 installed. That covers removing the affected pavers, re-compacting and leveling the base, reinstalling pavers, and re-sanding the joints. The range comes down to how many square feet are involved and whether we need to haul in new base material. Paver patio installation adjacent to a driveway runs $3,500 – $11,000, and full paver driveway installation runs $7,000 – $18,000 depending on the driveway’s length, the amount of excavation, and whether we’re matching into an existing KraftMaid pattern.
Every quote is written before work starts. You’ll know exactly what the parts cost and what the labor costs, separately. No change orders unless you ask for more work. Our workmanship warranty covers the repair for 365 days from the completion date, and if something fails in that window we come back and fix it at no charge. That’s the 365-Day Done Right Promise, and we put it on the invoice in writing.

You can safely lift an edge paver and check what’s underneath, whether that’s sand, crushed concrete, or mud. That tells us a lot before we even arrive. What you shouldn’t do is start pulling pavers out of the middle of the driveway. Those pavers are under compression from the ones around them, and when you yank one, the neighbors lose support and tilt. Now a two-paver repair becomes a twelve-paver repair. We’ve seen it in the Baldwin Park and College Park neighborhoods more times than we can count.
Also skip the bagged paver sand from the hardware store. It’s usually play sand or masonry sand, not the angular joint sand that locks KraftMaid pavers in place. Use the wrong sand and the joints wash out in one Orlando rainy season. If you’re not sure what you’re dealing with, call us at (850) 920-7745 and describe what you see. We’ll tell you honestly whether it’s a job for us or something you can handle with a bag of the right sand on a Saturday afternoon.
FAQs

With a properly compacted base and intact edge restraints, expect 25 – 35 years from KraftMaid concrete pavers in the Orlando climate. The base fails long before the pavers do. Call (850) 920-7745 if you see early settling, and we’ll assess it free.
No. Concrete pavers can’t be repaired once they crack through; the structural integrity is gone and the crack will keep spreading. Replacement of individual pavers is simple and cheap compared to ignoring the crack. Call us for a written quote.
Most section repairs take one day from setup to final joint sanding. We need the area dry for the sand to lock, so during Orlando’s summer storm season we schedule around the forecast. Call (850) 920-7745 and we’ll give you a straight answer on timing.
We keep Classic and Estate Series pavers in common colors at our Orlando shop, so most repairs don’t wait on a shipment. Estate XL and less common colors are ordered from our supplier, usually a three-to-five-day turnaround. We’ll tell you upfront which applies to your job.
