Plant Prefab Fence Installation: The Orlando Owner’s Guide
Plant Prefab fence installation in Orlando typically runs $3,500 to $9,000 installed, depending on panel count, gate hardware, and whether we’re matching existing post spacing or resetting lines. We stock Plant Prefab-compatible fence panels, post anchors, and gate kits on our trucks, and most full perimeter installations are completed within two to three working days once materials are confirmed. Owners usually discover a problem the same way: a panel that started leaning after a summer thunderstorm, a gate that drags on concrete, or post anchors that have pulled loose in sandy soil. The good news is this is rarely a full-system failure. It’s almost always a specific part that failed first, and that’s the part we replace.
Which Plant Prefab Models This Applies To
Plant Prefab’s fence system uses a modular post-and-panel design that ships in flat-pack kits with pre-drilled mounting points. The panels come in three standard widths: 4-foot, 6-foot, and 8-foot, and the posts are engineered for either surface mounting on concrete or ground-set installation with anchor sleeves. The compatibility gotcha most Orlando owners run into is post diameter. Plant Prefab’s older kits from the 2019-2021 production runs used a 3.5-inch square post profile. Newer kits moved to a 4-inch profile, and the panel brackets are not interchangeable between the two. If your fence was installed before 2022, you’ll want to measure the post face before ordering anything. Aftermarket panels exist, and some are well made. But we’ve seen aftermarket powder coat fail inside of two Florida summers, where the OEM finish holds up because it’s rated for high-UV and salt-air exposure. If your fence is within 15 miles of the coast, OEM is the call. Further inland, a quality aftermarket panel is a reasonable way to save 15 to 20 percent on materials.

Signs Your Plant Prefab Fence Installation Is Failing
- Panel lean of more than an inch at the top rail. This usually means the post anchor has shifted in sandy or saturated soil. Orlando’s summer rain pattern, short intense downpours followed by heat, creates exactly the freeze-thaw style expansion that loosens shallow anchors. The fix is resetting the anchor in a deeper concrete footing, not just pushing the post back.
- Gate that scrapes the ground or won’t latch. The hinge brackets Plant Prefab ships are aluminum, and over time the lower hinge pin wallows out the bracket hole. The panel sags, the latch misses, and the gate starts eating concrete. We replace the bracket set and often add a steel backing plate so it doesn’t happen again.
- Powder coat bubbling or chipping at panel edges. This is cosmetic until it isn’t. Once the underlying steel is exposed, Orlando humidity starts the rust clock. Touch-up paint slows it. A properly prepped respray or panel swap stops it. We’ll tell you which one your fence actually needs.
- Post cap missing or cracked. A missing cap lets water sit inside the post. It doesn’t sound serious until the post rusts from the inside out and you find a hole at the base a year later. Caps cost almost nothing. Replacing a rotted post costs hundreds.
- Noise: creaking or popping when the wind hits the panels. This is almost always loose bracket hardware. The fix is ten minutes with a torque driver. Left alone, loose brackets become elongated mounting holes, and then you’re replacing brackets instead of tightening screws.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
For a typical Orlando lot, a full Plant Prefab fence installation with 50 to 70 linear feet of panel coverage runs $3,500 to $9,000. The low end assumes existing posts are sound and we’re swapping panels and hardware. The high end includes new posts set in concrete, gate rebuilds, and panel count around the upper end of that range. Every quote we write is a fixed price in writing before we start. It lists the panel count, the post work, the concrete, the hardware, and the labor as separate line items, and the number on the bottom is the number you pay. We don’t do change orders unless you ask for a change. The work is covered by our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if anything we installed fails within a year of the completion date, we come back and make it right at no cost to you. That includes a free second visit, no dispute process, no fine print.
DIY or Call Us?
Replacing a post cap or re-torquing bracket screws is something an owner can do with a hand driver and five minutes. Resetting a post in concrete, cutting panels to fit a property line that isn’t square, or rebuilding a sagging gate is where we earn the call. The danger with fence work isn’t usually dramatic. It’s a panel that lets go at the wrong moment because a bracket was under-torqued, or a gate that swings into a car because nobody caught the hinge wear. If you’re not sure, call us at (850) 920-7745 and tell me what the problem is. We’ll figure out the rest from there. We’d rather answer a question for free than sell you a repair you didn’t need.
FAQs

In Orlando’s heat and humidity, expect 10 to 15 years from OEM panels with proper post installation, and 6 to 10 years from aftermarket panels, with gate hardware typically needing replacement at the 5 to 7 year mark. Coastal areas within a few miles of the Atlantic or the Gulf shave a couple years off both numbers. Call (850) 920-7745 if you want us to look at your fence and tell you what’s still got life in it.
Yes, if the damage is limited to surface rust, loose hardware, or a bent but intact panel, repair is usually the cheaper and correct call. If the steel is perforated, the powder coat has failed across more than 30 percent of the panel, or the mounting tabs are torn, replacement is the honest answer. We’ll show you the damage before we recommend anything. Call (850) 920-7745 for a straight assessment.
Most full perimeter installations in Orlando take two to three working days, assuming panels are in stock and no surprises with the existing post footings. A panel and hardware swap can often be done in a single day. We’ll give you a written schedule with the quote, and we show up when we say we will.
