We are not manufacturer-affiliated, but we work on these doors every week, and the thing that sets our Therma-Tru work apart here is simple: we know how Orlando’s sandy soil and summer humidity actually break them. When you need Therma-Tru sales & service, you want someone who can tell the difference between a door that needs a hinge adjustment and one whose rough opening has shifted. That’s the kind of detail Orlando homes demand. We cover the Orlando service area with crews who have spent years on these exact doors.

Why Orlando Residents Choose Us for Therma-Tru Service

A whole-home remodel with the living, dining and kitchen areas opened up

Isaac Pruett learned construction at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College before spending decades on real projects for real families, and he’s carried that same straightforward approach to every Orlando Bathroom Remodeling and door job since. He measures twice because he’s learned it’s cheaper than measuring once. That attitude extends to Therma-Tru doors: we’d rather spend an extra ten minutes diagnosing than sell you a replacement door you didn’t need.

Our crews see Therma-Tru doors in hundreds of Orlando homes each year. We know the real-world results of Florida humidity, hurricane-driven wind loads, and rapid tract construction. A generic installer might read a spec sheet. We’ve watched a Classic-Craft panel bow after three seasons of afternoon thunderstorms on a west-facing entry. We know what holds up and what doesn’t.

We always source genuine Therma-Tru replacement panels, hinges, and weatherstripping. Aftermarket parts rarely match the original dimensions after Orlando’s heat cycles, and they can void an existing warranty. We recommend full-door replacement when the panel is warped or delaminated, because refinishing a compromised fiberglass skin is throwing good money after bad.

Common Therma-Tru Construction Problems We Solve in Orlando

Most of the Therma-Tru issues we see in Orlando fall into five patterns. Here’s what actually happens, and why this climate makes each one worse:

  • Gaps around door sweeps and jambs from frame expansion. Humidity pushes wood frames outward, and the gap lets conditioned air escape while letting afternoon storm water find its way in. We see this most on stucco-over-wood frame entries common in Orlando suburbs, where the stucco traps moisture against the jamb.
  • Warping or delamination of door panels after rain wets unsealed edges. A Therma-Tru door is only as watertight as its edges. When the bottom edge isn’t sealed properly, repeated thunderstorms wick water up into the fiberglass, and the veneer starts to pull away. Once delamination starts, a refinish won’t stop it.
  • Stress cracks in the fiberglass skin at hinge mount points. Wind-driven rain in a hurricane-prone market means doors take lateral loads that aren’t common in drier states. Hinge screws loosen, the door sags, and stress concentrates at the hinge mortises until hairline cracks appear in the skin.
  • Failed weatherstripping leading to moisture intrusion. In Orlando’s humidity, weatherstripping that works fine in a mild climate degrades faster. The rubber dries, the sweep loses its compression, and water tracks along the threshold. It’s a small repair, but left untouched it rots jambs.
  • Binding at the latch side from soil settlement. This one is distinctively Orlando. Many subdivisions west of the city sit on former citrus groves with sandy soil that settles and shifts. When the ground under a stoop moves, the rough opening twists, and a door that closed perfectly in January sticks in August.

Therma-Tru Service in Orlando: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment

A built-in window seat in a bay window

Here’s a fact that matters to any Therma-Tru owner in Orlando, and it’s one you won’t read in a national door guide. Many Orlando subdivisions west of the city sit on former citrus groves with sandy soil requiring special foundation compaction. New homeowner? Nobody tells you this at closing. But that shifting soil is exactly why doors bind here in ways they don’t in neighboring cities on firmer ground. When the soil settles unevenly under a stoop or entry slab, the jamb twists, and the deadbolt no longer lines up with the strike plate. We’ve corrected this on homes in MetroWest and along the Dr. Phillips corridor more times than we can count, and the fix isn’t just shaving the door edge. It’s resetting the rough opening and repacking the gap so the jamb stays square when the ground moves again.

In the Dr. Phillips area, our tech replaced a Fiber-Classic Mahogany entry door on a 1990s stucco tract home after afternoon storms repeatedly leaked past the threshold. The original door’s foam core had absorbed moisture at the base, causing the veneer to bow outward, and the sandy, formerly grove land soil had settled enough to twist the jamb. We reset the rough opening on compacted pack-out, installed new OEM weatherstripping on all four sides, and set a stainless steel Therma-Tru adjustable sill, then sealed the stucco edges with elastomeric caulk to stop the recurring moisture path. That door hasn’t leaked since.

Orlando’s hot, humid subtropical climate also accelerates corrosion and mold growth in poorly ventilated structures. Wood jambs in older concrete block homes near downtown have spent decades absorbing humidity, and that’s a separate set of repairs we’ll handle before we ever set a new prehung unit.

Therma-Tru Models & Products We Service in Orlando

We service the full Therma-Tru lineup you’re likely to find in Orlando homes: Classic-Craft Mahogany Collection, Fiber-Classic Mahogany, Smooth-Star, and Pulse entry doors. Each line has its own frame profile, hinge prep, and weatherstripping groove, and we keep genuine OEM components for all of them in local stock so we’re not waiting on a shipment for a simple hinge replacement.

We don’t use aftermarket panels or generic sweeps. A Therma-Tru door is engineered as a system. When you swap in a part that’s a few thousandths of an inch off, the door doesn’t seal the same way, and in this humidity, a door that doesn’t seal is a guaranteed callback. We’d rather your door outlast us both.

This is the heart of our independent Therma-Tru service. Therma-Tru itself doesn’t run installation crews in Orlando; we’re the independent service provider that sees the field failures, fixes them, and reports back to you plainly what held up and what didn’t.

Therma-Tru Service Pricing in Orlando

A dining nook with a built-in banquette

Here is what typical Therma-Tru door work costs in Orlando, in real dollar figures so you can decide if a call is worth your time before you pick up the phone.

Service Typical Price Range
Entry door replacement (Classic-Craft, prehung) $2,500 – $7,000
Weatherstripping & threshold repair $250 – $800
Fiberglass door skin refinish $500 – $1,500
Jamb & rough opening repair $600 – $2,000

What drives the range is the condition of the rough opening. A straight swap on a square jamb with no water damage lands at the lower end. A door that needs jamb repair, sill replacement, and stucco re-sealing goes higher. That’s why our estimate is free, and it’s delivered in writing before any work starts. Call (850) 920-7745 to get your exact number.
